Mission Central

Our Mission Team along with Pastor Kelly have decided to support Assist Communities in the fight to end Opioid Addiction in our community. Part of our plan is to become intimately aware of the needs of agencies working in this fight and to learn how ALUCC can get involved. We are inviting all of our church members as well as family and friends to visit the local rehab facilities and to get actively involved.

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio

Looking for volunteers to sort and pack food for distribution to Lorain County agencies that support those in need of daily food.  The work requires inspecting and sorting incoming food from stores in the area. The workers stand at work tables that feed to a roller conveyor for final packing. Some light lifting is required. Typical work attire is appropriate. The volunteers will go through a training and orientation presentation prior to working.  Children 8-12 are allowed with one-to-one parental supervision.

Update on IHN/Family Promise

Dear Supporters of Family Promise,
On December 18, the Board of Directors of Family Promise of Lorain County voted to dissolve Family Promise of Lorain County Inc. and approve the settlement agreement with Neighborhood Alliance.  We have transferred all assets to Neighborhood Alliance.
Since September, Haven Center, the program of Neighborhood Alliance which serves the mission of sheltering homeless men, women, and families, opened additional beds to shelter families that would have come to Family Promise.
On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the congregations, coordinators, volunteers and donors that gave so much of their time and talent to Family Promise and help homeless families in Lorain County.  Over the 10 years that we were in existence, we were able to give shelter, food, clothing, hospitality, case management services, and hope to many families in desperate situations.  We should all celebrate our achievements that helped break cycle of homelessness in Lorain County!
Please support Neighborhood Alliance and The Haven Center as they become the only shelter for homeless families in Lorain County.  Thank you so much for your support of Family Promise!
Blessings,
Diane DePould
Family Promise Lorain County Board President and Interim Executive Director
