Mission Central

Our Mission Team along with Pastor Kelly have decided to support Assist Communities in the fight to end Opioid Addiction in our community. Part of our plan is to become intimately aware of the needs of agencies working in this fight and to learn how ALUCC can get involved. We are inviting all of our church members as well as family and friends to visit the local rehab facilities and to get actively involved.

EMPTY BOWLS BY THE LAKE fundraiser for hunger relief is Saturday, October 13,
The seventh annual Empty Bowls by the Lake fundraiser will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the American Legion Post 211 (31972 Walker Road) in Avon Lake from 11am- 2pm.  Potters, crafters, educators, students and volunteers have been working to create and donate handcrafted bowls. Local restaurants will donate soup and bread to serve. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world. A $20 donation will include one pottery bowl, and unlimited soup and bread. Children that accompany a $20 donor may participate in the event for a reduced donation of $5 for ages 6-12 and free for 5 and under. The reduced donation includes soup and bread, but does not include a pottery bowl.
The event will include live entertainment by singer Brittany Davidson and the Avon High Electric Orchestra and a silent auction/raffle with opportunities to win such items as a Put-in-Bay for a Day package, Cavs tickets, group SUP lessons, works created by local artists, and a Vitamix. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and Community Resource Services.
