Getting Involved
All activities and meetings of the church are open. We encourage members and guests to become involved in projects and groups to enhance their own sense of ministry and to develop meaningful relationships with others in the church family.
If you think you might like to serve on a team or committee, talk to someone on that team, or visit one of their meetings. The six official teams currently meet monthly.
We welcome volunteers in any number of areas. On Sunday mornings, volunteers serve as ushers, greeters and Coffee Hour hosts; the Audio Video Team operates TV cameras and the sound board. Christian Education volunteers work in the nursery, teach Sunday School, help with Vacation Bible School (July) and other projects. Every Saturday morning a crew gathers to work around the church, inside and out – painting, odd jobs, yard work, etc.
Our Good Neighbor Thrift Shop at 158 Lear Road relies on volunteers to sell its affordable, quality resale merchandise (all proceeds benefit the mission giving of the church.)
Educational opportunities include Cross Training which is held twice a year – once in the fall and once during Lent. Cross Training is a six-week program for education and community building. We meet on Wednesdays from 6-8 for dinner, informal worship and classes for all ages. Adult Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 10:30 during the school year. Other classes are held on Sunday mornings, and periodically throughout the year.
We also have a Men’s Prayer Group, Stephen Ministers, Book Clubs and Adult Leaders for youth programming. During the year look for special programs such as retreats, movie nights, guest speakers and social events for all ages.
