About Nate

Nate Taylor

My name is Nate Taylor and I serve as the Director of Youth Ministries at Avon Lake UCC. I began serving here in April of 2007. My primary responsibilities include overseeing and developing our youth ministries programs for students in grades 6-12. That includes our JH Youth Group, our Confirmation program and our SH Youth Group. Along with all of this I am responsible for overseeing our Adult Volunteer Team, our SH Student Leadership Team, two summer mission trips, several fundraisers including our Annual Cabin Fever Cornhole Tournament, our Dirty Dog 5K & Dog Wash, countless games of ping-pong, the extremely rare overnighter and many high-level meetings at Las Cazuelas or Buffalo Wild Wings. I am very active in the Heartland Conference’s Outdoor Ministries programs. I have attended camp for the past 30+ years and I serve on the leadership team for Sportscamp.

I am originally from Toledo, Ohio. My wife Lisa and I currently live in Lakewood with our three children – Max, Nora & Brooke. I am a big fan of Cleveland – especially the Metroparks, Cavs, Indians, Browns, Lake Erie and Cedar Point. I enjoy antiquing, hiking, golfing, camping, photography, canoeing, stargazing, bbq and bbq-ing and having the privilege to introduce young people to this guy named Jesus. I believe that everyone has a unique, beautiful and important story and an opportunity to contribute to the on-going creation of this world we all share. I look forward to meeting you!
